Concert at Torvscenen with MITO (MITRI with band)

The concert will feature songs written by the group MiTri, which consists of Sigurd Olsen, trumpet, Annne Louise Kaalstad, vocals and Øystein Tønnessen, piano. Øystein is away all summer, but the group has brought in pianist Lars Jakob Rudjord as a great substitute. In addition, musician Kjell-Håkon Aalvik will be on percussion.

All four have solid musical experience and have performed at home and abroad. Sigurd has a background in bands and jazz bands and has had concerts as a conductor, soloist and band member. Anne Louise has studied singing at the Academy of Music, has sung classically, in rock bands and many different jazz bands in concerts on large and small stages. Pianist Lars Jakob Rudjord is educated at the Academy of Music and is known to many through his music projects and performances. Kjell-Håkon Aalvik, with extensive musical experience behind him, is frequently used in concerts, tours and recordings and has broad experience from several styles. 

MiTri has released three albums that have been played both locally and on national radio stations. The genre is somewhere between soft jazz, pop and folk and has been characterized as "MiTrisk". 

This concert will primarily feature songs from the second release: "D'æ sånn d æ". The lyrics are in Farsund dialect and are about small and big things in life. The group has previously had various musicians with them on concerts at home and abroad several times, and performed well-known jazz songs in their own way. But this time it will be a quiet and beautiful concert with trumpet, singing, piano and percussion.
