The pearls of coastal culture are on the program when writer Jo van der Eynden and film producer Jan-Robert Jore invite you to a picnic and film screening at Backes Bu under Kaperuka.
The event gives you a golden opportunity to learn more about the lighthouses and outports along the Sørland coast.
On Thursday 11 July at At 2.30 pm, the duo from Lillesand will delve into history and talk about the significance of the lighthouses along our coastline.
Friday 12 July at 14:30, the two focus on the southern ports.
Van der Eynden is a Norwegian non-fiction writer, translator, museum director and cultural historian who grew up on Justøya near Kristiansand. He has published several non-fiction books about coastal culture and fishing.
Van der Eynden has also had an important role in the development of Lindesnes lighthouse and the museum there, as well as the establishment of the Coastal Works Museum. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Norwegian Fishermen's Association's Coastal Culture Award and the Ministry of Transport's Lighthouse Award.
Jan-Robert Jore is an award-winning documentary film producer. His work gives life to the stories of Norway's lighthouses and their indispensable role along the coast.
